What Makes this Practice Unique
Meet Dr. David Haas | Meet Dr. Maria Haas | Meet the Staff | Our Blog | What Makes this Practice Unique
- Two doctors are in the office on all patient days
- instant collaboration and consultation
- less patient waiting time if one doctor is busy
- Only 1.5 assistants to each doctor. Many offices have four to eight assistants per doctor and the doctor may do very little treatment on the patient. Many use a "treatment coordinator" (T.C.) - a staff person to do the work that the orthodontist should do.
- Adequate time is taken to compile proper records and to devise an appropriate treatment plan - be cautious of an "instant diagnosis" which may result in less optimal treatment.
- Our staff is not only well trained and experienced, but dedicated to our office and our patients. The orthodontic assistants average 20 years experience working in this office - a loyalty unmatched in the area.
- "Early Treatment" is a hallmark of our practice. Early treatment does not mean early braces attached to the teeth. It does not mean "braces done twice". What it does mean is a focus on the foundations (bone) that hold the teeth. Results are always better if jaws and teeth are properly sized to each other and if these jaw bases fit each other properly. Braces cannot accomplish these important goals in most instances. Therefore early treatment with braces is usually a waste of time, money and the patient's effort. Always seek a second opinion if braces are proposed before all the permanent teeth have erupted.
What does "Invisalign Certified" Mean?
It does not necessarily indicate the practice uses Invisaligns. It means that a one day "lntroductory Course" was attended, whether the doctor is a family dentist or an orthodontic specialist.
"Preferred Provider" - demonstrates the usage of Invisaligns on a minimal regular basis.
"Premier Provider" - indicates continuing and qualified experience on a quarterly basis with Invisalign treatment. Frankly some dentists, specialists or family dentists, advertise themselves as "Invisalign Certified" but have little or no experience with the appliance. They depend on Invisalign's marketing to attract patients to their office and then attempt to switch the patient to their preferred technique or to permanent braces.
- If you are told "lnvisalign will not work" for your case, ask how many cases the dentist has completed with lnvisalign. If it is zero to ten in the last 12 months, you likely should get a second opinion about Invisalign suitability.
There are few cases that Invisalign cannot handle well if proper preparation is done. Extraction cases are certainly one area of caution, but the need for extractions can be minimized with alternative techniques. Do not assume that crowded teeth means that 2, 4 or more permanent teeth need to be extracted.
